We finished our stair remodel couple months ago, which also took couple months. As you know, the only negative thing when you diy your home project is, it probably will last forever because someone is lazy😉.
we did a lot work in our entryway. Our entryway was narrow and narrow, it was so narrow.
This is how it was. As I said, narrow. The picture even made it looks wider. I felt very frustrated after we bought the house, because I thought it gonna be very expensive if we want to remove the wall.
Then we removed it anyway.
And of course it’s not open enough, I said just tear down the entire wall for me🌝. I also painted everything white, it looks much open and brighter😌.
Next step is to rebuild the stairs.
Our first contractor asked for like 10k to rebuild it, only replace the balusters and railing, and they said just leave the right side (wall side) as is, because it will cost more if I want to replace the treads and make it same as left.
Ok, then we found another contractor. Their first price was about less than two thousand. I was very satisfied with this price. Then before we start to do it, they asked 1k more than that🙄. And on the first day they started the work, they wanted add 500 more. I was so so so pissed off 😡, so I did the rest by myself 😤.
We built the frame, and then we went back and forth about the balusters for more than couple months… this is another story I’ll tell next time.🙃
